Thursday, January 24th, 2008The ONLY benefit to 1.1.2???
Thursday, December 6th, 2007
Is what you are seeing the only real Improvement to the iPhone (maybe iPod Touch too?) with FW 1.1.2?
The CPU specs state that it can do 620 - 667 MHz, but A**le wanted to preserve more battery.
With how hot this phone gets with normal usage as it is, I can’t image the heat with 200 more MHz.
If you’re a brave one
Friday, November 9th, 2007If you went ahead and ran “OktoPrep” prior to upgrading to 1.1.2, don’t worry because your phone looks stock. We have some news.
I just received word that the OktoPrep package is part 1 of 2. There is a second tool, a “Post-Upgrade” if you will. It has not been released yet, but it will be soon. So, either hold out and run the 1.1.1 hacked for a while, or do 1.1.2 and wait for the tool to bring your phone back.
Either way you look at it, it seems that the iPhone hack community has certainly out “Tom and Jerry’d” Apple. What will Tom, errr, Steve, do next?
When Web 2.0 just can’t cut it
Thursday, September 20th, 2007Momma taught you to share, didn’t she? Even if its something you made, you were supposed to share.
Somebody tell Steve Jobs’ mom to remind him.
The idea of locking out people from being able to customize their iPhone is as logical as putting Paris Hilton on a senate committee (”Global Warming? That’s hot”). The situation with these phones reminds me of Microsoft - A LOT. Are we renting the phone? No, so why can’t I use it for what I want?
So, we’re here to help people out with that because nothing aggravates me more than not being able to customize or tailor your personal items that better suit you and your everyday life.
First. Apple’s way of letting you play games on the iPhone comes in the newer technology of Web 2.0. Without going into details on Web 2.0, do know that Flash or any other plug-ins are NOT needed to run such apps. Games and to-do lists all work flawless.
Head over to www.iphoneapplicationlist.com for a complete list of Web 2.0 apps for the iPhone (even that web site is tailored to the mobile Safari).
Another method is the awesome AppTapp. On the installer.app site, it gives you 2 methods to the madness. Mac or Windows. Installing this (is pretty automatic) will give you the ability to download 3rd party apps made for the iPhone such as games, utilities, or even a way or 10 to customize your interface. For a tutorial, go here.
So, the choice is yours Grasshopper. How will you defy Corporate America today?
Use your iPhone as a flashlight…kind of…
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007Seems like something out of a spoof video of what the iPhone is good for, but stumbled across this site which has some images you can download into your photo library, and then can look at in photo viewer. They’re graduated images in greyscale and, er, redscale?, so you can zoom and pan to the brightness of white or red light that you want. Creative. Not a one-click setup, you have to put it in a photo library and synch it that way, but a real out of the box thinking use of the iPhone.
